The American Rescue Plan (ARP) is a historic moment to get $350 billion in flexible federal aid to communities across the nation. Organizers, advocates, and policymakers need to lead together to ensure that recovery funds directly support communities and residents that have been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic due to historic inequities.

Lead Together is a national platform for advocacy groups to share tools and resources that support communities and advance economic justice and racial equity. The platform provides resources for organizing for equitable and effective uses of the ARP’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), including advocating for states and localities to engage communities in the decision-making process and make spending decisions transparent to the public.

The State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) are some of the largest investments we’ve seen for communities in decades. Grassroots organizers have worked hard to ensure SLFRF support COVID-19 recovery, improve programs and services, and fuel our economy for the long term.

This map charts campaigns across the country that have won historic investments in subsidized child care, affordable housing, healthcare, and other community-driven initiatives through SLFRF. These are campaigns driven by residents, organizers, and local stakeholders who have shaped what SLFRF can do for their communities!
